SANDY WEST the Great Female Drummer from the RUNAWAYS is here Playing “the Troggs Wild Thing”, the Songs on this video tape are from a “LIVE” showcase SANDY did in 1983, (Thanks to Sound Engineer@ Bluemoon Tony Stribling ) I transfered 2 of the songs. (I have more but not giving them out yet) this VHS tape is “Old & Dusty” I needed to save it!!! as it was Dying, i saved it!!! This is live, and not the best quality, but hey, it’s Rock&Roll History right?. also the bass player in this is Ralph Carter of Eddie Money fame, a brilliant musician. also Greg Micheals on lead guitar vocals an awesome Talent, now no longer playing, sad. thanks Paul Hone from RUNAWAYS.COM Hello Friends, Many of you have written letters to Sandy West and have inquired why there is no new music or merchandise. It has come the time for us to address this issue. It has been a very hard year for Sandy. In August of last year, Sandy was diagnosed with lung cancer. She has battled bravely and endured an extensive course of chemotherapy which is still continuing. We did not release this information as Sandy wanted her illness to remain a private issue, and to reemerge with new projects, cancer free. Earlier this week, Sandy received some news that has made her reevaluate the issue of privacy vs her need for your prayers and support. In regards to The Runaways movie…very disappointted how little of the movie envolved Sandy, or told the story of Sandy!

Sandy West always wanted a reunion she pleaded to no avail, hell had that reunion happened I believe with all my heart she’d still be alive, well for one thing all were offered 1mil so she coud’ve afforded the best but no she was asking too much, now though she is gone and gee a movie is coming, what a rip off to Sandy, couldn’t give her, her dying wish but hell you will take all the money now and tell your lies I hear many already u cld shock us and tell the truth about who started this band!!

Indeed, Sandy’s passing was a loss in the music and female musician community as a whole. I went to the LA tribute show at the Knitting Factory. If you get a chance, check out my site. I’m truly inspired by her drumming. All the best, Miss Randall of Rusty Eye.

The Guitarist GREG MICHAELS died 2yrs before Sandy, he was a Great Guy a True 1 of a kind, and was 1 that got away as he was truely Talent extrodinaire!!!
